The underdogs hold out for match of the season
A passionate and determined display saw a severely depleted Men's 2's take on the promoted Dreams Hockey Team.
With only 9 players in the first half of hockey, an immense effort from the entire team afforded the opposition only one shot on goal.
Down by one but not willing to let it go a goal from returning new father figure Guy Plumbly saw the teams go in even at half time.
A late addition of players to the Tornados team at half time afforded the luxury of a goal keeper and meant a more attacking playing style. After conceding a further 2 goals though, the team could be forgiven for giving up but that wasn't the way these lads were going to let it play out. The entire team fought it out to the last minute and with goals from Guy and Gary Lee evening the scoreline. The teams were left in a stalemate at the final whistle. For his two goals Guy was awarded Man of the Match. Although they only received one point for the ladder, the men definitely won the clubs team of the week for their unreserved efforts in making the most out of a hard task. Well done!
